Representative Office of India celebrated ITEC Day in Jericho, Palestine on 11.3.2013. The event was organized in partnership with the Governorate of Jericho. Around 150 ITEC trainees and Palestinian graduates from Indian universities attended the event.

Representative of India, B.S. Mubarak, spoke about the time tested friendship between India and Palestine and spoke about the areas in which ITEC training in offered in India. He also spoke about the contributions made by Graduates from India in fostering Indo-Palestine friendship. 

The Governor or Jericho, Mr. Majed Fityani, spoke about the compassion showed by Indian leadership towards the students from Palestine and praised the consistent support India offers to Palestine.

Mr. Saeb Erekat, the Chief Palestinian Negotiator participated in the event and during his speech praised India for its consistent support to the Palestinian cause and also appreciated India’s support to Palestinian students and professionals. He conveyed that around 12,000 Palestinians got graduated from India and these graduates are holding important positions in Government and Private sectors. He also spoke about his visit to India along with President Abbas in September 2012 and the bilateral agreements he signed on behalf of Palestine in the fields of Vocational training, Education and IT.
